Of the 2,300 respondents, 60% earned at least the median salary. The average SEO salary ranges between $43,500 and $75,500, with the highest earners raking in $98,500 annually.

While SEO has become increasingly competitive in recent years, there is still plenty of room for good ideas. Although a large majority of SEOs in the U.S. earn less than the national median, there are some high-paying jobs to consider.
A senior SEO manager (also known as an SEO director on the agency side) can make US$112,000 or more per year. These individuals have a lot of experience under their belts.
There are many other job roles in the SEO world, including Digital Strategists, Link Builders, Content Writers, and SEO Analysts. Some generalist roles can also pay well.
