The word game quickly took off, and a few months after it was acquired by The New York Times, Wordle had become the most-searched term in Google globally.
Search intent is a crucial part of keyword research and ranking your content for the right keywords. It means that your content has to be relevant to the searchers’ needs. It also means that your content must be the best resource out there for a particular query.
Head terms have more search volume but are usually harder to rank for than long-tail keywords. To balance your keyword strategy, try to find a mix of head terms and long-tail terms.
Another great way to learn about search trends is to check out the search volume in different states and cities, or in certain subregions of a state. This feature can help you determine which keywords to target for local SEO.
To get started, log in to your Google account and go to Search Trends. You’ll see a blue bar at the top of the page that displays up-to-minute updates on the popularity of keywords. Click the downward-pointing arrow in the far-right side of an entry to see a chart of its popularity.
